About our Founder

Melissa Lyon West spent the first thirty years of her life trapped in a high-demand religion that upheld male power and thrived on manipulation and control, leaving her afraid of being seen or heard. Living in a constant state of fear, shame, and guilt, she kept her true self hidden.

She longed for a bigger life but felt trapped, always trying harder but never feeling enough.

Escaping the cult was one of the darkest parts of Melissa's story, yet, it was in this very darkness that hope appeared. A woman, vibrant and unapologetic, showed Melissa the power of courage, vulnerability, and self-expression. She began to reclaim her voice, her courage, and her truth.

It was during that time that a pivotal decision shifted Melissa’s life:

No more hiding. No more lying.

Slowly, she broke free from the rules that constrained her, learning to love herself, embrace her power, and create her own path. The freedom she found fueled her soul and ignited a passion to help other women do the same.

Driven by a calling to support women in breaking free from their own limitations, Melissa became a certified life coach. She worked with women and those who yearned for more—self-love, authentic living, the courage to speak their truth, and the strength to go after ambitious goals and the life they desired.

But something was missing.

It wasn’t until a period of deep healing and reflection that Melissa remembered her true essence:

She was a witch: A woman connected to nature and awake to her power!

What she quickly realized was that community, ritual, and cycles were at the heart of it all!

And thus, The Awakened Witch was born —

a space where women can embrace their power, understand the energy of the moon, practice rituals, and create lives they’re excited to wake up to.

This journey has become not just about reaching goals but about creating a life of fulfillment, joy, and connection.
